North Oak Cottage Reopens

After being closed for over three years as a result of a staffing shortage, people have started moving into one of two temporarily-closed cottages at LBSA!

Addressing the Staffing Shortage

Prior to the pandemic, community-based intellectual and developmental (IDD) service providers like LBSA experienced a chronic staffing shortage. When the pandemic hit, many organizations closed homes and programs as the staffing shortage reached crisis levels. To address the staffing shortage, LBSA had implemented three pay increases in two years to attract and retain its amazing team of direct support professionals. The pay increases represent a 65% increase for our team members. This would not have been possible without the generous support of community members over the last several years.

Thank You for Your Support

Progress continues to be made adding staff members – so much so that LBSA plans to open the final cottage in September 2023. We are grateful to all our amazing staff, volunteers, supporters and community partners who have helped us through these uncertain times.
