Laura Baker School provides one-to-one individualized instruction to students ages 5-22 with developmental disabilities in a private school setting to both residential and non-residential clients. Services such as occupational therapy, health monitoring, speech and music therapy are also available.
The regular school program runs from September through June. Students receive individualized training in basic academics and skill development for daily living, community access and future vocational opportunities. A summer school program runs from June through August, allowing students to maintain their learning while concentrating on leisure and social skills. Additional services are available if needed. Students do not have to be living on campus to attend the Laura Baker School. We accept students from neighboring districts not more than an hour’s bus ride away. Every student is a success story at the Laura Baker School. Students who have previously been asked to leave or seen as chronically challenging in the public school system thrive here. Just ask Lisa’s family. Lisa’s father was on the verge of quitting his job so he could stay home with his daughter, who had been kicked out of school. Being the sole source of income for the family, it was a hard decision to make. He found Laura Baker School, and Lisa is now a contributing member of a learning community. She has made great strides personally and academically. To inquire about admissions, please contact Jane Fenton at 507-645-8866. |
