A Look into the History of Laura Baker Services
In 1897, Miss Laura Baker started ” The School for Nervous and Backward Children,” in Minneapolis, dedicated to the idea that people with disabilities could be educated and become productive members, A year later, she relocated to Northfield, and eventually renamed it “Laura Baker School.”
We are confident that Miss Baker would be thrilled at how her vision has transformed the lives of so very manyy people: clients, their families and staff.

*We function like a large family: staff members know clients personally.
* We are sought our for our reputation in working with people with dual diagnosis of DD and mental illness. We are successful in working with people with a history of abuse.
