An African Adventure…Jam Camp ’11

During the week of August 8-12, the Assembly room was turned into what looked like an African rainforest, in preparation for this year’s Jam Camp. The camp, originally designed for kids with special needs, was presented as an integrated camp this year, in collaboration with Northfield Community Services. We had a great group of kids, helpers, and volunteers who came for a creative arts experience. We told African stories, wrote music, learned African songs, engaged in movement and drumming, and made our own tubanos!  Thanks to everyone for making it a fun adventure!

Jam Camp 2010 to be held August 16-20

It’s almost time for JAM CAMP!

Jam Camp provides a fun group music therapy experience for children and teens throughout the community. Designed for kids with developmental challenges, the day camp involves participants in fun, creative experiences while fostering communication, social, motor and academic/cognitive skills. First held in 2006, it continues to grow, and is the only camp of its kind in the Northfield area.

Our 2010 Jam Camp will be offered August 16-20.

For more information, see the LBSA Music Therapy page and the 2010 Jam Camp registration form (PDF).
