Semi-Independent Living
Laura Baker Services is a SILS provider dedicated to helping people 18 years of age or older with developmental disabilities live independently through training, counseling, instruction and supervision.

Budget and money Management
Meal planning, preparation and diet management
Apartment/home maintenance
Socialization
Community access
Skills assessment
Shopping skills
Personal health care
Personal appearance and hygience
Coping skills and behavior
Developing social, recreational, and transportation plans
Rights and responsibilities of community living
Personal safety and emergency training
Accessing community resources
Telephone and utility usage
Individually contracted services may include: educational services, follow-up services after discharge for the program, leisure time training, on-going social training, 24 hour on-call emergency service, and independent skills assessments.
Clients usually receive 10 to 30 hours of direct assistance each month. Semi-Independent Living Services are licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services under the Consolidated Rule.
